The course is suitable for people of all abilities. This is a workshop-based course, each student is taught on a one-to-one basis according to ability and interest. When appropriate, group teaching of specific skills may be undertaken, e.g., demonstration of throwing on the potter’s wheel or using stencils for decorating. Students will be able to pinch, coil, and slab or throw pots depending on what is appropriate for their individual chosen project.

Sarah Deane is an experienced art teacher, working in schools and sixth form colleges for nearly 30 years. She was proudly Head of Art at Sharnbrook Academy for 11 of these. With a degree in Theatre Design, she is skilled in both 2D and 3D practices. With a passion for ceramics and printmaking, Sarah continues to thrive from sharing and developing ideas and processes. She is currently developing her own practice, undertaking commissions of landscape-based paintings.
