This course is suitable for anyone who has completed the Beginners class or those who have had previous experience in watercolours. We will focus on improving on different ways of applying paint, uses of brush strokes and techniques, along with colour mixing and composition.

An all levels upholstery class, to work on individual projects at a suitable pace.  Certain materials such as calico, horse hair, cord etc can be purchased from the centre.  Beginners must start with a small piece such as a foot stool or a drop in seat.

This mixed-ability course is friendly, supportive and caters for everyone from total beginners (for whom this may be the first taste of a craft course) through to those who have attended previous courses and wish to develop the skills and techniques further. Materials hold an additional charge.

A 9 week traditional course designed to show you how to work in the traditional craft of book binding, construction, renovation & repairs.

An 7 week course where students will work on individual, small project at their own pace, with a tutor on hand for guidance.  Certain materials such as calico, horse hair, cord etc can be purchased from the centre.

This 11-week course is friendly, supportive, and aimed at total beginners, or those wanting a refresher on basic techniques.

Mixed Ability - Beginners will learn how to cut glass & be introduced to basic methods of assembly, making a small apprentice piece. More experienced can learn the advanced techniques of painting, firing, fusing & slumping. 

A mixed ability class where students will be able to pinch, coil, slab, use the wheel or throw pots depending on what is appropriate for their individual chosen project and ability.  There will be an additional charge for materials. 

The course is suitable for people of all abilities. This is a workshop-based course, each student is taught on a one-to-one basis according to ability and interest. When appropriate, group teaching of specific skills may be undertaken, e.g., demonstration of throwing on the potter’s wheel or using stencils for decorating. Students will be able to pinch, coil, and slab or throw pots depending on what is appropriate for their individual chosen project.

This course aims to cover the basic techniques to make bobbin lace. Those with more experience will build on existing skills to make more complex pieces.

This 10 week course will introduce you to silver jewellery making and is suitable for beginners. This course is designed to introduce you to silver jewellery making and is suitable for complete beginners. Your tutor will guide you through the steps to make a range of items.  Design skills will also be embedded throughout the course to encourage you to explore your own ideas through a variety of set projects. Projects will be taught through demonstration.

An 11 week course suitable for all levels including beginners who would like to explore abstract art making for the first time and those looking to progress to making independent work.  Please see course information for further details.

This course is designed to introduce the basics of overlocking.

This is a practical, general sewing course for all abilities.The class is taught by group and one-to-one contact between the student and tutor. Everyone works at their own speed on projects of their own choice. The tutor is there to help and give advice.
